Park heater help

Can someone please confirm the following

A UK SPEC Audi Q7 S-Line (2007) has a Webasto fitted as standard?

It can heat the passenger compartment

It can be activated so it come on using a Timer?

Can you get a new keyfob so you can activate remotly?

I have VAG-COM so any links/pointers to either equipment I need is setting I need to set in VAG-COM would be great.

Thanks

Steve

While fitting an AMI unit and clearing DTC's I noticed a malfunction on my Auxilliary Heater which might explain why the car is taking so long to warm up in this cold weather.

I have the following DTC's

Glow plug with flame monitoring -Q8 implausible signal (static)
Heater unit locked (static)

My car came out of warranty 3 weeks back - any suggestions what needs doing / part numbers etc

I have the same error. The Audi dealership told me that the plug is not changeable, and that I need a complete burner insert (cost approx. 370€).

Is it true that you can change just the plug? What part number is it? :)

Auxiliary heater

Hi everyone, I have just purchased my first Audi, it is an A6 quatro 3L TDI s line Le mons addition.
I am trying to establish if the vehicle has auxiliary heating and if so can it be enabled to heat up the car on those cold winter mornings. The MMI shows auxiliary heAting, but I can only select off or automatic. I realise I can enable the timers with vag-com, but am not sure if this is going to help. At the moment if I sit in the car with ignition on but engin off I can hear something working, but no heat. I can hear the gurgling of fluid, but not a lot else. The vehicle is a 2006 addition and was very high spec when new. I was going to order the vag- com cable, but thought I should check first if I need to enable more than the timers. Any help would be appreciated.

The problem is the same as with VW Touareg - and cannot be solved even by retrofitting an entire aftermarket Webasto heater (Thermo Top C), because it cannot turn on the ventilation (tech guy told me they have been trying to do this since Touareg came to market, but coluld not solve it). There are absolutelly no problems wit otehr cars (Audi A6 etc.)
Sure it can turn on the ventilation - the factory installed one does so why wouldn't a retrofited one start it. AFTERMARKET Webasto heater will not start it - but if you use VW ORIGINAL (also made by Webasto but to VW specs) it will start the the ventilation. I have both done full retrofit from scratch and conversion from auxiliary heater on Touareg V6 TDI and it worked just fine - and still do as far as I know....

No A6 does not have a fuel driven aux heater - it has a extra electricity driven heater inside the ventilation system - that is the one that you can steer with MMI.

The only Audis that have Webasto aux heater are Q7 and A8 D3.
