Hey guys first post... was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction. Im looking for a 2010 Audi navigation system for my 2010 premium plus titanium package A3. Where is the best place to get one? The dealer wants to charge me 2500 for the parts and 700 for labor.
As of right now, I don't think there are any of the 'usual suspect' suppliers (Rabbit, Haaggie, etc) able to supply US-Spec 2010+ RNS-E's other than ordering one from your local Audi dealership... Keith
Dealer wants about $1700 for the unit and $600 core charge (because no unit is returned). Two dealer in my area said though that they can only order a RNS-E with a VIN and that Audi would not sell a RNS-E for a VIN that wasn't build with RNS-E.
Thanks for the quick reply guys. I guess your $1700 + $600 = $2300 is pretty spot on to the $2500 quote I got from my local Audi dealership. I did email Haagie as well, and like you mentioned, he doesn't sell them YET. I've tried to read up as much as I can on these forums but I can't find a definitive answer. Maybe you can help. The reason why I want the 2010 nav unit over an 09 unit is for the new 2010 ipod features. Is it true that a 2009 nav doesnt show playlists, track names, as well as NOT charging your ipod/iphone when it's plugged in and in use? If so, are there ways around this? If there are, I would consider just getting an 09 Nav unit. Thanks again, Aaron
For the iPod you need an Audi Music Interface (AMI) which only works with a CAN gateway as installed in newer A3 and TT. Nobody has yet reported to have the 2010 RNS-E with AMI successfully retrofit in a B6/B7/C5. For older A3/TT the CAn gateway may need to be upgraded to support the coding for the AMI which may require some other components to be upgarded as well.
on ebay you have many of these units y get mine from a francaise boy new unit perfectly paked, y pay 900euro search in ebay for eshop59 and send it a email, serious person
part of it has to do with customer service, and I don't know if I can just trust some random dude on a forum or on ebay to help me with any problems that may occur along the way. I am not really sure what you mean btw.
Almost all eBay transactions work this way. You have to read the seller reviews, pay via paypal and hope he will ship it to you. I ordered mine from Poland and my packages arrived on time and it was the best packing I have ever seen! If you didn't receive your item on time and if the seller stops responding/vague responses, you can file a paypal claim and get your money back.
That sounds like a decent experience. Part of the problem is I don't know exactly what will work. I dont mind paying a little extra for someone that can provide information as well as the product. I have a 2010 A3, premium plus/titanium, with the regular radio. There seems to be so many combinations of car models/variation in years, and variations in navigation systems that to find just the right combo that's plug and play seems complicated. I dont think an ebay seller from across the country is going to help me out with install/compatibility questions etc.
Yeah exactly. Haagie seems like a good person to deal with, its just too bad he doesnt sell the 2010 nav systems yet.
Don't buy anything to this guy on Ebay: car-navi-system, sell some unit like "new", just shit, refund by paypal 2 months later. This one is a very good seller and very honnest:audio_navi_part Becarfull, many shit or stolen unit to sell !! Regards.
