    Hello all,
I got a new RNS-E (8P0035193J) unit in order to get my RVC working.
In fact, with this unit my RVC is working with auto-switch when I engage rear.
However, this unit has HW:06 and SW: 0700.
I never heard about this SW version? Anyone knows anything about this "new" unit?

Very strange? - a 193 with a J suffix suggests a 2012+ unit, but the latest known official SW for the 2010+ RNS-E is 0210 for EU and 0230 for America.

Sounds to be like someone has created some previously unknown SW hacked version?

The label on RNS-E has production date from November 2013.
About the SW0700, we can find this SW on the latest navigation DVD on file B48INDEX.TXT.

I suppose SODFIDX is the SW version. So, this looks like to be an original Audi software. What do you think Dave?

Also, in latest DVD the last SW is 0220 for EU units.

AFAIK the 2010+ RNS-E doesn't use the B48 SW, it uses the 574 SW? And the 574INDEX.TXT file says the SOFIDX is 0220 on the 2014 DVD I have.

Unless maybe the very latest (shiny screen surround?) versions of the 2010+ RNS-E use the B48 SW?

Edit: See http://audiforum.us/threads/whats-b48-software-for.19899/ where kobra7 confirms that the latest units use the B48 SW.

I'm going to guess that he doesn't have an original Audi DVD (with a part number).

I have the same 2014 EU DVD and a 2010+ RNS-E (an 8P0 035 193 C) which updated itself to the latest 574 SW version 0220 when I first inserted the 2014 DVD.

So how do (can?) I get the 0700 B48 SW to install on my 2010+ RNS-E?

Anyone out there with a factory fitted late RNS-E (such as in an RS3) who can post what SW version number they are running?

If you have the 884BQ original DVD, this firmware is there, AFAIK.
I don't know if you get any advantage in use this firmware, because with this version (0700) I can't apply the "normal" SDS (Hack) usual for 2010+ units. Because this is a newer version, maybe in future someone will find a solution for that.

The B48 firmware has been on the DVDs for a few years already, but the earlier 2010+ RNS-E's "ignore" it and update themselves with the 574 firmware.

So the question is how to make earlier 2010+ RNS-E's load the B48 firmware in preference to the 574 firmware?

And the really big question - if you do will they still work?

I think the 0700 was used for B7 rns 193 units as you cant enable ami with the standard coding of xxxxx2x, I need to put the 0220 on the B7 193 unit, so we can get ami, so its a reverse of your question really, lol.
