Is this really true with US RNS-E software?

    Seen this on audizine:

Can anyone confirm that the US RNS-E software really doesn't display the station name on FM? - I was under the impression that it displayed the station name, but not the additional details that e.g. the Chorus radios did?

That's correct. For AM/FM you only get the frequency in the DIS.

    Wow - that's rubbish

With the EU software we get the station name in the DIS on FM (we don't have satellite radio).

The U.S. RNS-E software used to put the RDS data in the DIS but they removed it at some point.

Does anyone know if a hack has been figured out to get rds info back on the dis with the newer us software

There's no hack that I know of.

There wasn't even any US software for the RNS-E that displayed FM RDS info on the DIS. Symphony yes, Concert yes but not the RNS-E (and I was one of the first who had one in the US).

Has anyone been able to possible merge US maps files on a euro disk so it would run in euro mode but read US map files, which then would activate RDS
