Default RNS-D to RNS-E retrofit trouble

Hi guys,

I recently bought a RNS-E to upgrade my old factory installed RNS-D and I am having trouble connecting the can wires. I cut out the 2 wires (positions 13 and 26 from the old RNS-D and when I try to connect them to the new ones (9 and 10) it does not work (the lights don't go on and it won't turn off when I pull out the key from the contact ) - I was paying attention to low and high order.

Could you please tell me what else I could do to fix this?

Also, I cannot receive any satellites for my navigations, could the CAN also be the cause for this?

Thanks a lot!!

Andrei

You have to remove the TMC tuner or get CAN from the instrument cluster. But even without CAN you should receive some satellites.

Did you read the RNS-E DVD Navigation Plus Quick Links?

Thanks a lot, this is very helpful!
I forgot to mention, I drive an Audi A4 B6 from 2003, bought from Germany.

Could you tell me please, where can I find the TMC tuner and what I have to do when I find it :) (maybe there is someone on the forum that details this operation? ). It sounds like getting can from the instrument cluster is a lot more difficult. I thought that the 26 pin connector from which I took the 13 and 26 wires were TMC related.

I believe that the problem with the satellites may be from my old antenna, although it reads my location on the old RNS-D (now it cannot tell my current location).

Thanks a lot for your help!
