Default OEM Bluetooth Install

Hi,
Hope someone can help here.
I have 2002 AUdi A4, I have installed an RNS-E unit in it.

I have now purchased an OEM Bluetooth unit, Part No: 8P0 862 335 Q
Unfortunately the cable that came with it is not plug and play.

Can someone confirm if I can just connect the relevent cables with scotch connectors to the RNS-E wiring loom?

I am going to use this as a reference to connect the cables to the RNS-E Loom.

CarSystems - Audi 8P0 862 335 S/AA WIRING DIAGRAM

Thank You.

I soldered and heat shrunk my cables for a 100% connection - not a fan of scotch connectors personally.

Link you give for connections looks spot on.

Hi,
Following on from this, I need some more help here.
After connecting everything I took the car to someone to code it.
He said that the VAGCOM could not see the bluetooth when trying to tell the RNS-E that there was a bluetooth present.

I have checked all connections again and they look fine.
I have used this as a reference to connect the bluetooth to the RNS-E

[IMG][/IMG]

D15 RED +12V
D12 BLACK GND
D9 ORANGE CAN H
D10 BROWN CAN L
B5 WHITE K-LINE
D11 PINK MUTE
C6 GREEN TEL NF IN -
C12 BLUE TEL NF IN +

Now here is what I have in the harness that came with the bluetooh.

These are the cables I have:
+12V
GND
CAN H
CAN L
MUTE
TEL NF IN -
TEL NF IN +

As youu can see I don't have a cable that should be K-LINE
My car is an A4 2002 (B6 I Think)

Do I need that cable?

Thanks.

Anne.

If your RNS-E can be seen by VAG-COM then there is a K-line connection - since the A4 (yes yours is a B6) only uses K-line for diagnostics.

Hi Dave,
Thank you for your reply.

So I don't need the K-LINE.
Wonder what the problem could be.

I have also checked with the person I purchased it from and it worked fine in his car .

You need to make sure you have a K-line connection from the RNS-E (B5) to the BT unit, else it will not be seen from VCDS,/VAG-COM.

I believe you are saying your BT loom did not include a K-line connection as there are only 7 wires in your supplied loom - you need 8 including the K-line.

Hi Woorlord,
Thank you for your reply.
Do you know which pin Number this K-LINE would go into the Bluetooth end?
I know where it would on the RNS-E end.

The guy that was doing the coding has sent me this by Email:
To be fair to him he does have a genuine Ross-Tech cable but has only ever done any type of coding to his own Skoda.

"I just felt bad I hadn't been able to code it in. I had no comms with can gateway, radio/rns-e or Bluetooth. Other modules were fine, eg engine.

Did a scan for trouble codes but nothing of interest came up, will forward on the scan file when I'm on the computer later."

Thanks once again.

Anne
