Hi, your dealer is only half-right about the CP on the instrument cluster. True you're nuts exchanging the thing just to get the colour DIS . It looks nice but the cost is quite inappropriate. On the latest car models (ie late 2008 on with MMI 3G, new A4, A5, Q5, etc.) it is true that some components cannot be permanently unlocked. You can unlock them but as soon as you come back for any servicing work, the component will come up with errors because it wasn't in the car from factory. Audi is effectively trying to shut all doors to retrofits.

This is, however, not the case of your cluster. So, your dealer can remove the CP and after that there will be no problems. Plus, there are people that can change the mileage for you. It's not exactly legal but people still do it.

First you shall disconnect the LWL out from the CD changer and connect it to the LWL out on the BTA module. After that you connect the LWL in from the BTA module to the LWL out on the CD changer.
There must be an unbroken in/out ring between all the MOST modules.
The green wire (mine was gray) is joined with the green/purple wire on the CD changer.
If you have VCDS you can run a optical bus test to see if itīs OK.

I hope this will help. If not I can send you the installation description if you provide me with your email address.

    Kind Regards
