Default RNS-DX vs RNS-D

Hi!

I´m looking for a navi plus to my A4 B5 -01. And when searching the german ebay for one, I sometimes find a verison called RNS-DX,.

But I can´t what the different is from the more common RNS-D.

Can anyone help me?

The only things I can think of are:

1) the sellers are attempting to differentiate between the earlier RNS-C and an RNS-D (which uses Bosch DX map CDs).

2) the sellers doesn't understand that an Audi part number ending in X is an indication of a remanufactured part, not a different part.

You need to ask the seller for clarification.

The seller says:

"Difference in RNA-DX / RNS-D:

RNS-DX: 1CD für Deutschland RNS-DX: 1CD for Germany

RNS-D: 3Cd´s für Deutschland (müssen also innerhalb Deutschlands immer wieder gewechselt werden) RNS-D: 3Cd's for Germany (need to be changed again and again) in Germany"

okej?

The unti came from a A4 2001 (8E)

So the seller is confused...

He is using the term "RNS-DX" to describe what is actually an RNS-D, and the term "RNS-D" to describe what is actually an "RNS-C".

Yes you are proberbly right!
I asked him to be more specific about the differences and got the reply:

"I don't know if there are difference between the hardware.
RNS-dx needs one cd and RNS-d needs more cd's.
That's what i know.
"

Then I know and start to bid for it.

Thank you very much for the info!

There are different size and shape faceplates depending on which model of Audi the RNS-D will fit.

For your B5 A4 you want one with an Audi part number beginning 8D0.

8E0 is for a B6/B7 A4 and the faceplate is a different shape and size from a B5 A4.

If you can't find an 8D0 one, then a 4B0 one will be close (when retrofitting an RNS-E into a B5 that's what people use, since the RNS-E was never made for the B5).

okey, I guess the 4B0 is from RNS-D A6 right?
What is the diff between 3B0 and the 4B0?
