Im trying to buy myself a new A4 avant and cant get my hands on the car i want.

All of them have no NAV and the wait is 4 months.

Forgetting about cost is this possible?

what parts are needed?
the car will be in 1000 pieces when i buy it as the stereo will be going in.....

does anyone have any instructions at all or can point me in the right direction

Audi A4 B8 without navigation ships without MMI, instead it comes with an MMI-lookalike radio with "Audi Information System" with controls in the dash (instead of controls in the center console as with MMI/navi). So, you need to remove the radio, remove the dash controls, remove the screen, remove the center console, install center console keypad, install CD changer/multimedia unit in the dash, new MMI headunit, MMI radio/navi etc. in the trunk, install new screen, GPS antenna, probably new antenna amps etc.

Big job. Kufatec.de in Germany and craigyb of audiforum.us/mmi fame in the UK does MMI retrofits in UK. The cost, I guess, is in the 3000 - 4000 euro range with used components for MMI 2G. MMI 3G retrofits (the new MMI generation shipping in 2010 model-year) are not widely available. No dealer will probably do such a retrofit, you need to DIY or use a spe******t like Kufatec.de or craigyb.

My recommendation: order and wait the 4 months. You'll get MMI 3G, full warranty and all without a hassle. MMI 3G is vastly superior to MMI 2G which is the more likely retrofit at this time.
