Hi Guys,
ive read alot now about adding cruise control, i have a B7 with mutifunction steering wheel, i have got the parts from audi and am ready to do the install this weekend. i have read that once the steering wheel is removed it clears the angle sensor and EPS, i have read how to code these back but is there a way to find the codes that are already present in the car? i imagine so but does anyone know where they are in the VAGCOM? its so annoying that audi made it you have to remove the steering wheel, it would have been nice if it just screwed onto existing stalk ![]() any help on this is great |

Go to address 16 and you will see the current part number
part numbers for cruise index Q and R support cruise control so no need to remove the steering wheel to check.B7 platform with mfsw use the Q or R as standard so its just a case of buying the switch and the lower cowling and encoding address 16 and enable cruise activation in address 01 Last edited by a8 tech; 11-06-2009 at 01:55 PM.. |

unfortunatly in order to add the crusie control stalk i have to remove the steering wheel as i cannot loosen to other stalk to give it enough room to plugin the cruise control stalk this is because it has a little nipple with a nut in that sits behind the other stalk to hold both talks together.
v.annoying otherwise it would just fit straight in. |

Yes the air bag and wheel need removing plus the switch pack requires loosening from the steering column control unit to fit the switch but that's no big deal then add the cruise function in address 16 plus enable login in address 01 or long code byte change in address 01 depending on ecu/engine size and then clear the codes down and drive 20 metres in a straight line to reset the steering angle sensor or carry out zero compensation in address 03.Simple

Unless you have an S siffix SCSM - like my S4 had, then you need to change the SCSM to a Q or R suffix as well (as A8 Tech has already suggested).
