Default Headlight problems

1997 A4 2.8 Quattro
176 k
automatic
replaced all headlight bulbs after new switch from JY.

My headlights stopped working one night. The park lights, turn signals, wipers and HIGH beams work, although high beams only work when switch is pulled back. I tried cleaning the switch as suggested in another forum. That did not work. I went to junk yard and got a switch out of a car that i saw work. All lights came on like they were supposed to. Took switch home to r&r switch. R&R switch. Still no lights. The other forum said there is no relay in these cars for things such as headlights. So what else may cause this problem?
I could not post in other forum. Been trying for about 2 weeks. Gave up. Decided to look somewhere else. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!!
I need to get these lights working. I deliver pizzas and work mostly nights. Mom needs her car back.

Sarcasm won't help getting people to reply, and won't win you any friends. Nobody posts here as a job, we're all fellow Audi owners who have jobs and lives - so you cannot EXPECT a reply.

The lights are controlled by an ECU, maybe the drive circuits in that have failed?

Have you tried replacing the fuse for the headlights in the fuse panel?
